Strong Remedy

One of Fleetwood’s first resident was a young pharmacist called James Lofthouse. One of the remedies he created for the fishermen was an extremely strong liquid containing menthol and eucalyptus. To make it easier to carry in the rough sea conditions, Lofthouse transformed the liquid into small lozenges.

The name -Fisherman’s Friend

Local fishermen liked these lozenges and soon began referring to the miracle lozenges as their “friends” and would not leave shore without them. The townspeople of Fleetwood got to hear of the lozenges and visited the pharmacy asking for those “fisherman’s lozenges”. Thus, the branding of Fisherman’s Friend name came about.

Pack size

In Malaysia, Fisherman’s Friend comes in two pack sizes of 25g and 11g. Both pack sizes are available at popular retail outlets.
